Caudate Lobe Mass Mimicking Pancreas Head Tumor

Abstract
The caudal extension of tumor originated from caudate lobe or enlarged caudate lobe mimics pancreas head tumor or retropancreatic mass of pancreas head.
The authors experienced 5 cases that show the above findings on CT for 3 years at Paik Hospital.
Following characteristics are helpful for diffentiation of these cases from true pancreas head tumor;
a. The mass is partially located at portocaval space.
b. Tracing upward, the mass is not separated from caudate lobe.
c. The mass does not obstruct common bile duct and pancreatic duct.
